Eurohockey Club Cup Winners Cup , Bowdon , 2009. TV Coverage to air and online !

Channel M  (TV) is Manchester's only dedicated local  TV channel , innovative ,  creative  , ethical, and with a totally fresh approach to television and an inherent social responsibility, and a refreshing  altruism that seeks, amongst other goals,  to promote those local sports  largely totally ignored by big budget terrestrial channels who have their focus on the purse, ratings  and , it seems to me , little else.  The sport of field hockey has never attracted the media attention it deserves despite being second only to football in terms of active participants nationally and yet  I recall  Channel M covering a local league game , at Brooklands , with their cameraman freezing to death on top of a container as makeshift platform a short  while back, and turning out an excellent programme ,  with an equal mix of  quality video and intelligent interviews with coaches and players as the game should be represented and showing the way forward as to how this game could attain the prominence it should be afforded.

Despite the fact that mainstream media focused , in the main , on events in Hamburg for a men's event the same weekend of April 10th  onwards ,  Channel M invested their time and effort  in the top end of the women's game at the highest level ,  in covering events at South Down Road.
