Child Protection Statement

As a former teacher of vulnerable children with some 26 years experience I am fully committed to child protection issues in terms of what and how I photograph and how photographs are disseminated, especially on the internet.

As a result, I do not normally cover junior games, following the guidelines of EH wherein a child or junior is deemed  to be any player under the age of 18. Where players in senior sides are of junior age I will only photograph them with parental consent.

For any junior game I am officially asked to cover parental consent will have been sought from both teams prior to the game. I do not make any junior album on my website available other than through password protected access. The URL of that album would be emailed to a responsible person at the club or a responsible representative of the team.

I would strongly advise parents of junior players to discourage their children from labelling their playing shirts with names through which they could be identified or approached by a stranger.

Professional photographers seek consent from clubs and register their presence but there are many small devices such as phone cameras that make it very hard to control or monitor photography at games. Anyone not known to the club taking pictures should automatically be challenged.
