I was first introduced to the
exciting sport of triathlon when I was employed by the City of Salford to
act as official photographer for the 2004 World Cup. As well as covering
international, regional and local events I have provided elite
athletes including Michelle Dillon ,Stuart Pip Taylor, Emma
Snowsill, Liz Blatchford (and many others) with images for their websites,
sponsors and to illustrate articles for Triathlon magazines and tri- ezine
websites. I also provide triathlon images for a number of event companies
for commercial and editorial use. ITU World Cup Triathlon , Salford The Salford course is very popular with world class athletes as it is a beautiful setting in the regenerated dockland area of the city and mostly flat. The ITU , the sports governing body, have elected to let Salford host the event since 2003. The Salford Tri is set at what is know as the "Olympic" distance, namely a 1.5 km swim in the impressive Huron basin, a 40 km bike ride and then a 10km run. It also is host simultaneously, to "all age races" which involve hundreds of club and amateur athletes making it an incredible event to either watch or participate in. After a year off through the Olympics, Salford will host the race in July 2009, (date as yet to be confirmed.) To get a flavour of the prestigious Salford event click on one of these images below to view my albums from the l2006 event or the yellow hyperlink for the 2007 race. |
